Another hugely successful Russ Abbot Classic took place over the first May Bank Holiday weekend. The cabaret dinner on the Sunday night saw 250 guests enjoy a night of laughs and great music. Josh Daniels had the room in stitches with his unique brand of humour and Ultimate Elton had everyone on their feet dancing to all the hits that Elton has written over the years. Russ Abbot hosted the evening and, as always, treated the audience to tales told in the way only he can.
The golf on the Monday was played in brilliant sunshine but with a strong wind that made Kingswood a real challenge. A full field of 22 teams had to battle not just with the quick greens and plentiful bunkers but with a tornado type gale! In the end, Keith O'Keefe who had travelled over from the Isle of Wight won the Celebrity prize with an excellent 34 points and his team also picked up the Team prize. Prize-giving took place during the usual superb buffet lunch provided by the Kingswood kitchen with many staying to chat and socialise long after the meal had finished.
A great event with many vowing to be there next year.
