The 2009 Annual Stag Dinner was a resounding success which raised over £200,000 for the needy kids. Tumultuous applause was heard as the Executive Director Peter Stovold escorted our 2010 Captain Ian Irving into the room, and from that moment on it was laughter all the way. Ian Richards had great fun marshalling the Heads and Tails and Keith O'Keefe said Grace in his inimitable style, and as the starters were cleared the banter began as the comedians threw I Say, I Say's at our new Captain.
Peter Stovold gave a heart warming speech and then introduced Ian who was exceptionally honoured to have been invited to be Captain, and we know that he will give his utmost support to the Society in 2010.
Aaron James entertained everyone with his wonderful impressions, and Josh Daniels had the place in uproar with his personal style of comedy. Even the auction was fun with comedian Adger Brown acting as auctioneer, and thanks must go to him for squeezing every penny out of the crowd.
Ian Richards introduced Brendan Healy who closed the evening with his outrageous comedy routine, and everyone went home with a smile on their face and a warm glow in the knowledge that they had contributed to such a wonderful cause.
