A truly superb Stag Dinner saw the Charity benefit to the tune of over £200K. A magnificent outcome in these difficult times. Right from the entry of new Captain, Russ Abbot, the evening went with a bang. Heads and Tails got everyone in the mood, the ‘I Says’ from the floor were top notch and Adger Brown was his usual superb self as the auctioneer. From the top table, Robbie Glen, Martin Bayfield and Gary Marshall had the room in stitches and Russ, in his Captain’s speech, regaled us in his own inimitable style.
The Silent Auction, with all items donated by the membership, proved a great success and the live auction items really had people digging deep to purchase them.
The best possible end to our 2011 season with heartfelt thanks to all who attended and to all those who bid so generously on the night. Rest assured, we will have several more Sunshine Coaches on the road as a result.
