Sunshine Coaches
Over the last few years, the Society has raised around £1M a year and been able to present a large number of Sunshine Coaches to deserving causes.
All the schools and care centres who benefit from the presentation of a coach are carefully vetted to ensure that there is a real need and that the childrens’ lives will be enhanced by the use of a coach.
To raise the necessary funds (the average cost of a coach is £17,500), the Golf Society organises some 30 events a year ranging from member only events to Celebrity/Ams to corporate days that we manage on behalf of sponsors. We play on some superb courses including Wentworth, Walton Heath, St. Pierre, St. George’s Hill, The London and St. Andrew’s Bay.
All monies raised are used to purchase coaches and we are very fortunate to number many generous benefactors amongst our membership who donate not only considerable sums of money but also auction and raffle items which are used throughout the year to raise additional funds.
Each December we hold a Stag Dinner in London which provides a fitting climax to our year with some 900 sitting down to enjoy an evening of unparalleled entertainment provided by the celebrity members of the Golf Society.
