Variety Club Golf Society
The Society was formed in 1965 with the very clear objective of raising funds which allow us to purchase Sunshine Coaches.
Sunshine Coaches are presented to schools and care centres looking after sick, disabled and disadvantaged children. Some 40 years on, the Society has gone from strength to strength and in 2006 raised just over £1M and presented 46 coaches. Chairman Sir Henry Cooper supported by celebrities from the worlds of entertainment and sport together with our business membership enjoy the delights of some of the best golf courses around the country whilst at the same time donating their time and efforts to raising the funds that are so desperately needed by so many children.
The joy and delight that we see on the faces of the children when we present a coach to their carers is a true motivating factor and re-affirms the commitment of all associated with the Golf Society ‘to keep the good work going.’
